Chief Executive Officer
A successful pastor, church and school planter and ministry entrepreneur, Jeff Keaton has spent his adult life believing that through Christ anything is possible.
As the founder and CEO of Renewanation and iLumenEd Academy, Renewanation’s virtual school, Jeff now works across the United States and Canada to help awaken the church to the great need to give every child a biblical worldview. Jeff is the author of “The Life of Radical Faith.” He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Michele, for 33 years, has two married daughters, Julianna and Heidi, and one grandson, Marshall.
Chief Operation Officer
Ron brings strong education and corporate executive experience to the cause of iLumenEd Academy. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering and an MBA from Virginia Tech. Ron spent 22 years in the corporate world, leading manufacturing organizations, managing numerous multi-million dollar projects, and building cross-functional teams. He currently leads Renewanation's Christian School Division as well as iLumenEd, while also shepherding overall operations.
Curriculum & Instruction Director
Currently serving as an Academic Dean for a Christian school, Tonya has a passion for giving as many children as possible a biblical worldview foundation. She started as a public school educator and later became a state educational auditor. With a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, Tonya has served as a homeschool tutor and a Christian school educator with recent roles as assistant principal and academic dean. Tonya is leading iLumenEd Academy's Curriculum and Instruction including the development of our educationalists team. Tonya and her husband, Ron, live in Roanoke, VA and are blessed with 3 children.
Christian Educator Senior Advisor
Jessica Robb spent many years in public education before answering the call to start a Christian school. Having seen the effects of secularized education, Jessica has a passion to see Christian schools become centers of biblical worldview training and excellence. She has helped open several Christian schools using both traditional and virtual models. She has a master's degree in educational leadership and has helped in revitalization and coaching of Christian schools across the nation. Jessica and her husband, Chuck, live in Roanoke, VA and are blessed with 3 beautiful children.
Dr. Brian Mashburn
Brian has 25+ years of experience in business technology implementations across the industries of Education, Health Care, Financial Services, and Direct Marketing serving as Board member, Chief Innovation Officer, and Technology Director for a K-12 school system, Director of Software Development for a national health care operations software vendor, and Professional Services Technology Consultant for Fortune 500 Financial Services corporations. Brian has faculty experience at both the collegiate and secondary levels providing experience and insight into the academic and customer service needs of the successful virtual student.
Math & Science
Heather Borntraeger holds a certification in grades 1-8 and has taught Middle School Math and Science, but also holds a M. Ed. as a Reading Specialist. She has taught many children to read and spell using Orton-Gillingham methods through the pedagogy of the Rigg’s Institute. In addition, she has taught many students to love the written word through Italic penmanship classes, using the Getty-Dubay resources.
Heather and her husband Rick were married in 1989 and have two adult children, Tyler and Haley. The Borntraegers live in Louisville, KY where they serve in the worship ministry of their local church, as marriage mentors, and in assisting parents to give their children a biblical worldview. Heather’s favorite book is the Bible and she is involved in mentoring other women to follow Christ through teaching. Since 2000, Heather has taught in private Christian school settings and in cottage schools, and loves educating students. Having homeschooled her own children for over two decades, one of her favorite pursuits has been spending time encouraging homeschooling families. She now enjoys creative pursuits like consulting, singing, calligraphy and baking.
Heather Walton is a certified teacher, with a Master of Arts in Teaching from Bellarmine University. She has taught in both public and Christian school and founded a K-12 Christian school. Additionally, Mrs. Walton leads a large Christian homeschool organization in her area, assists homeschool families through her private business, and homeschools her school-age children. Prior to her educational career, Mrs. Walton worked as a journalist for a large weekly newspaper and in the U.S. Army. Because of her broad educational experiences, Mrs. Walton has a passion for equipping families to disciple their children according to a Biblical worldview.
Heather and her husband, Terry, have 8 children, and 2 grandchildren. They live in Louisville, KY, where her husband, Terry serves as a pastor in a local church. Mrs. Walton enjoys blogging, singing, and women's ministry. She is a lifelong learner in a variety of areas, including natural health, homesteading, constitutional law, and piano.
Wendy Tavenner has spent the last twenty years in education, first as a homeschooling parent of two, then as an English literature instructor at the secondary level. In addition, she has served as the administrator of Arlington Christian School in Arlington, Washington, for the past four years. She received her undergraduate degree in English and education from Rice University in Houston, Texas, and will obtain a Master of Arts in English with a Focus on Education this December from Grand Canyon University.
An Air Force wife and mother of two adult children, she now resides in Western Washington. Because God chose the written word as His primary means of communication with humanity, she believes literature is one of the great methods of sharing in God’s creativity. Discerning reading, careful composing, and eloquent speech enable us to communicate God’s love and redemption to a needy world. They are truly an act of worship.
Health & Fitness
Vincent Dubbeld holds a BA in Business Management from Ohio Christian University
and an MA in Worship Studies from Liberty University. He is also a proud graduate from
Parkway Christian Academy, the school Jeff Keaton started in Roanoke, Virginia in 2002.
Vincent grew up with parents that were very involved in Christian ministry and education. His parents’ passion for and commitment to worship through music influenced his life so greatly that when he felt God’s call to become a worship leader, he answered ‘yes’ and currently serves in Port Charlotte, FL as a Director of Worship Ministries in a local church. Vincent has a passion for impacting young people for the cause of Christ. He is looking forward to using his extensive experience in Christian education as he instructs the next generation with a biblical worldview.
Vincent has been married to his wife Heather for 8 years and they became parents for the first time this year when God blessed them with their beautiful daughter, Victoria.
English & Social Science
Ryan McCullah graduated from Northeastern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He also holds an Associate’s degree in Pre-Journalism from Carl Albert State College.
Ryan has been involved in Christian Education teaching English and English as a Second Language, as well being a pastor and church planter, for over 25 years. He is married to Christie and has four children, Madeline, MacKenzie, Mikiah and Mavery.
Maria Galasso has a Master of Science degree in Elementary Education with certification in ESOL and Reading. Mrs. Galasso holds the State of Florida Educator Certificate and has served in Christian education for the past 19 years, teaching upper elementary grades and high school English. She has also served in the role of school administrator.
Mrs. Galasso and her husband are active members and serve at their church in South Florida. She loves to spend time with her husband, family, and friends. She also enjoys traveling especially to Kentucky to visit her son and his wife. She is passionate about Christian education and believes it is a privilege to be able to educate students with a biblical worldview and see how God is working in their lives.
One of her favorite Bible verses is Titus 2:3 – “Bid the older women to be reverent and devout in their deportment as becomes those engaged in sacred service…They are to give good counsel and be teachers of what is right and noble”.
English & Social Science
Christie McCullah graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Family Relations and Child Development from Oklahoma State University (go Pokes!) Later, she returned to school to add an elementary/middle school teaching certificate from Northeastern Oklahoma State University. She has homeschooled her children, taught students from 1st -12th grades, and mentored ESL college students.
Christie is a committed follower of Christ, happily married wife, and mother of 4 beautiful daughters. She loves good conver-sations and diving into the deeper parts of life and relationships. Her passions/hobbies include sports, mentorship/teaching, all things international, travel, and good food! Christie and her family currently reside in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her daily motto is a quote from Bilbo Baggins, "I think I'm quite ready for another adventure."
Maricka Herrer holds a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from God's Bible School & College, with a Bachelor's degree in the same as well as in Intercultural Studies. She has taught various courses including Bible subjects, biblical languages and English at the college level. Having been homeschooled through a Christian program herself, she knows first-hand the value of quality,
biblically founded education, and is passionate about others receiving it as well.
Native to South Africa, she spent several years in the US for education. After serving for 3 years as a missionary educator in the Philippines, she returned to her home country to help start a mission partnership that provides ministry training for Christian workers throughout Africa. She has also been involved in teen and young adult discipleship ministries. Other than spending time with family and friends, Maricka's passions and hobbies include making music, reading, spending time in nature, and studying cultures, history, and languages.
Biblical Worldview & Foreign Language
David Martinez graduated with a BA in Ministerial Education from God’s Bible School & College and is currently working towards a Th.M. degree in Bible from Central American
Theological Seminary. He also works with the Spanish branch of Shepherds Global Classroom where he has taught various courses focused on biblical interpretation and apologetics.
David was born in México City and is now preparing for a future ministry in his home country that will focus on church planting and theological education. His passion is to help the next generation of Christian leaders be better prepared to respond to the different challenges in a biblical way. His hobbies include reading, music, and long talks with friends and family.
Biblical Worldview & Science
David Duncombe holds undergraduate degrees from Florida Bible College and Florida State University. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Wesley Biblical Seminary and will complete his Ph.D from Regent University in the fall of 2020. David has been teaching biblical worldview in Christian schools for most of the last 20 years.
He is deeply loved and respected by his students and has helped produce hundreds of young men and women who are prepared to stand for truth in our darkened world. David is married to Sharene and they have been blessed with three children: Rose, Wesley and
Music & Art
Mrs. Fourman holds a BA in Integrative Studies in Theology and Music Education, and an Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies from God’s Bible School in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is currently working on a MA in Educational Leadership from Covenant College.
She has been an educator for eight years at a local Christian school and has experience wearing many “hats”, including being Choir Director, Physical Education Teacher, as well as Public Relations manager. She enjoys teaching theology and church history most of all. Dana’s passion is to convince students that God has chosen them to do “big things,” and that He will provide abundantly above what they can ask or think to accomplish those things – with excellence. Her desire is to guide students to lead fulfilled lives with the peace, wonder, joy, and contentment that only Jesus gives.
Mrs. Fourman lives in south western Missouri (the beautiful Ozark Mountains) with her husband Alex. She enjoys anything outdoors (she’s a farm girl), reading, music, sports, and history.
K - 5th
Cheryl Hunt has been a teacher and library media specialist since 1984 and has taught in California, Arizona, Maryland, Oregon, and Washington. She has joyfully used her degree in Christian Education and Bible from Biola University while teaching in several Christian schools and homeschooling her own two children. She has also taught in the public school system for many years and loved being a librarian. She served as the Preschool Director for a very large church in Seattle. She has a background in vocal music and has toured Europe, Canada, and the United States with the Biola Chorale.
Cheryl is married with two grown children and lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest where she enjoys gardening, photography, and traveling. Cheryl loves reading and studying God’s word and mentoring others to grow stronger in the Lord. She has a passion for mentoring students to discover their God given gifts and talents and developing a Biblical worldview. One of her favorite scripture verses is 3 John 1:4, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth."
Math & Science
Lynn Williams received her Kindergarten through undergraduate education in Christian schools. After teaching in the public schools since 2004, Lynn chose to go back to her roots of Christian education and teach students the biblical basis she received and has lived by.
She has been teaching since 2004 primarily in the field of mathematics. She received her Bachelor of Science in mathematics education from Oral Roberts University in 2004 and her Masters of Science in educational technology from Oklahoma State University in 2009. In her classroom, she has a passion for teaching students the integral design of mathematics and the complexity at which God created it. She hopes they leave her class with an appreciation for mathematics and a better understanding of it.
While not teaching, Lynn enjoys running, reading, and chasing after her twin daughters with her husband David in the Kansas City area.
With a dual degree in molecular biology and English from Vanderbilt University, Ethel Harris brings over 25 years of teaching experience in both classroom and homeschool settings.
Married for 32 years, Ethel and David are the proud parents of three sons; the oldest two, after homeschooling K-12, received full scholarships to attend the University of Alabama, where they are respectively finishing a PhD and a B.E. in mechanical engineering. Their youngest is in a local aviation program.
Ethel brings enthusiastic energy into all her teaching and looks forward to teaching biology for iLumenEd.
